And when I say lightweight and easy to use, it is. Comparing it to the steel style, it's going to save you a lot of weight, and that just makes it so much easier to handle. Those steel ones are going to be about the same size when it comes to how wide they are, but trying to carry those up to the vehicle can be a little awkward. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 GMC Yukon- Video
Today at our 2016 GMC Yukon we are doing a test to it of the MaxxTow of thirty by fifty wheelchair carrier with forty-eight inch long ramp. That part number is MT70106 and this has a five hundred pound weight capacity. We've already got it in our first position here. This is going to be our loading position, which will be great for any time you're loading a wheelchair, scooter, or any type of yard equipment or anything like that onto your carrier. It's going to be much easier than trying to load it on a regular carrier that has the four walls all the way around. It's easy to push it up onto our carrier using that ramp here. Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 GMC Yukon- Video
Today on our 2016 GMC Yukon, we're doing a test fit of the Curt 24x60 Cargo Carrier. That part number is C18152. This is designed to work with 2" hitches and has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. We already have this installed here. We're going to take a few measurements and go over some features. Starting off with our ground clearance, we're going to have about 24-3/4" of ground clearance. Overall to our vehicle, we've got about 34-1/4", an then our closest point we're going to have about 8-3/4". Now, on our Yukon, we do have a single passenger-side exhaust under here. more

Now this is designed to work with 1-1/4" and 2" hitches and has a weight capacity of 300 pounds. Although it does have a pretty high weight capacity, it is lightweight so it's easy to insert and take out of our hitch. We've already got this installed here. Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 GMC Canyon- Video
Today on our 2016 GMC Canyon, we're test-fitting this Stromberg Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier. Now, they've designed this for use with 2-inch hitches, and it offers a 500-pound weight capacity. The part number on it is CC-100. As you can see, we've got a nice, large expanded steel floor here on the carrier, allows that dirt and debris, even medium-sized rocks, to fall right down and through, so we're not going to have to worry about them building up on the carrier. There's going to be a raised edge that comes all the way aroudn the outside here. It's about 2 and 3/4 of an inch high. For the smaller frame cargo carriers, that's about a quarter of an inch higher than we see with most of them. more

Today on our 2016 GMC Canyon, we've got out the Curt 20X60 Cargo Carrier here. We're going to do a test fit on it, just to see exactly how it stacks up here against the rear of the vehicle. Now, this cargo carrier is designed for use in 2" hitches, and it's going to offer a 500lbs weight capacity. The part number on it is C18150. Now, I like the expanded steel size in this carrier. It's a personal preference, but I like that it's not so big, so if I have little items on it, they're going to fall through, but it's not so small that the dirt and debris and things like that won't clear off the carrier. more

The part number on it is C18110. You will see that we have the nice expanded steel floor so dirt and debris and things like that are going to be able to pass right down and through. The raised edge is going to come all the way around the outside here. Let's get a measurement on that. It looks like it's about 2 1/2" high, so that's going to help hold all our gear in place while we're traveling. more

All around the cargo carrier, we have these points here and that's going to be used as tie-down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. Measuring from the bumper to this outer rail here, it's going to be about 26 1/4 inches. Our ground clearance to the end of this bolt here, that's going to be about 19 inches. Our closest point, this inner rail, is going to be about 6 1/2 inches. The exhaust is going to be on the passenger side, but it's going to be facing down and away from the cargo carrier. more

Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2010 GMC Yukon- Video
Today on this 2010 GMC Yukon, we're going to be test fitting the 23 x 47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier, part number M2205. This cargo carrier has a carrying capacity of 450 pounds. It has this grated area and walls, which makes it easy to clean, and it keeps all your items safely secured inside these 4 walls. Now, I'm going to go ahead and give you some quick measurements here. As far as the height of the walls is concerned, that's going to be about 22 inches from the grated floor here. Measuring from the bumper to this edge here, we've added about 35-1/2 inches or so. Then, from this point here to the ground, it's going to be about 27-1/2 inches, and as far as our closest point, which will be the edge here, that's going to be about 13 inches from the bumper. Now, the exhaust is going to be on the passenger side and face away from the cargo carrier, so you don't have to worry too much about any heat-sensitive material when you're hauling it. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2010 GMC Yukon- Video
Today on this 2010 GMC Yukon we're going to be test fitting the 23x60 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier, part number CC-100. This has a carrying capacity of 500 pounds, has a mesh floor which makes it easy to clean, and also has these points around the cargo carrier which you can use as tie-downs for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. At the front here, you'll see there's places here where you can actually attach lights or reflectors if you'd like. Also if you're going to be blocking off your license plate, there is a mount here to re-attach it should you need to. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements. The exhaust on this vehicle is going to be on the passenger side and it's actually going to face away from the cargo carrier, so you don't have to worry too much about any heat sensitive material when you're loading that up. With the cargo carrier where it's at measuring from the bumper to the edge here, we've added about 28-1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. For our ground clearance to this point here at the bottom of the bolt, that's about 24-3/4 inches. At our closest point to this edge here, that would be about 8-1/2 inches. The exhaust on this vehicle is going to be on the passenger side and actually faces away from the cargo carrier, and since it has that raised shank anyway, I don't think you really have to worry about any heat sensitive material being placed in your cargo carrier at all. Now with nothing loaded up, of course we have full access to our rear hatch to get whatever it is we need. more

Today on this 2013 GMC Terrain, we're going to be test fitting the 23 x 60 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier, part number is CC-100. This has a 500 pound carrying capacity. It has a mesh floor, which makes it easy to clean and it has these tie down points all around the cargo carrier to use for ratchet straps or bungee cords. It has these holes here on either side for taillights, if you need to put those in, as well as a mounting case you're blocking your license plate it can be moved to this area here. Let's go ahead and get some measurements. The first one I'm going to show you is the distance added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier is installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure from the bumper since that's the furthest point out. To this edge here, it's about 27-1/2", right here to the bottom of this bolt that's going to be about 11" and our closest point to this edge here that's about 4-1/4". Now the exhaust on this vehicle is going to be on the driver's side and face slightly away from the cargo carrier, so you really don't have to worry too much about any heat sensitive material while you're traveling. With nothing in the cargo carrier we have complete access to our rear hatch to get whatever we need, however I'm going to go ahead and give your a break over point measurement, which is the point where your hatch would actually come to contact with whatever it is you're hauling. more

Today on this 2013 GMC Terrain we are going to be test fitting the 20 by 60 Curt cargo carrier, part number C18151. This cargo carrier has a 500 pond carrying capacity, it also has this mesh floor on the bottom which makes it easy to clean and it has this rail around the border of it which can be used as a toe-down port for either your ratchet straps or your bungee chords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now, the first being how much distance is added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier is actually installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure from the bumper since that's the furthest point out. To this rail here it's about 33 and 3/4 inches, our ground clearance is going to be about 13 inches. Then our closest point which will to be this rail here, that's going to be about 13 inches. Now the exhaust is going to be on the drivers side, faces slightly away from the cargo carrier and since it's a pretty decent distance away from the vehicle you don't have to worry to much about heat sensitive material when you are loading that up. With nothing in the cargo carrier we have a complete access to our rear hatch with plenty of space in between to get whatever we need. more

Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 GMC Terrain- Video
Today on this 2014 GMC Terrain we're going to be test-fitting the 23 x 47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier, part number M2205. Now this cargo carrier has a 450-pound carrying capacity. It has a mesh floor on the bottom here, which makes it easier to clean, as well as the walls are very easy to clean as well. The walls' height from the base of the cargo carrier measure up to about 22 inches, which will guarantee all the luggage, or whatever it is you're hauling, will stay nice and secure inside your cargo carrier. To load it, you simply pull out the 2 pins up front here, and you can tilt it forward and load whatever you need inside your cargo carrier. We'll go ahead and reinsert those pins for now. Around the borders of the cargo carrier we have this rail which can actually serve as a tie down point for either your ratchet straps, or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements. The first one being, how much distance is added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier is installed I'm going to go ahead and measure from the bumper, since that's the furthest point out. To this rail here, that's 28 1/4 inches. For our ground clearance to this point here, that's about 15 1/2 inches. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 GMC Acadia- Video
Today, on our 2012 GMC Acadia, we're going to do a test fit of the Curt 20x60 Folding Cargo Carrier. That Part Number is C18151. It's designed to work with 2 inch hitches and has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. The first thing we're going to do here is take a few measurements. Ground clearance being first, we're going to have about 17 1/4 inches. Overall to our vehicle, we're adding about 32 3/4 inches. Our closest point measurement is going to be about 11 1/2 inches away. As for Acadia, we have dual exhausts, and 2 exhausts per side, and those sit about 17 1/2 inches away from your vehicle. more

Today on our 2010 GMC Sierra 2500 series, we'll be doing a test for the aluminum MaxxTow Cargo Carrier, that's part number MT70422. As you can see it's a sizable carrier, we've got a few spots we can tie down our cargo, to the raised wall here. It's dimensions are 48 by 21. It has a 500 pound weight capacity. It has an open floor plank as you see here, which means it's going to be really easy to clean, easy for dirt and debris to just simply fall through. It can be only used with a 2"by 2" receiver. more

Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2002 GMC Envoy- Video
Today on this 2002 GMC Envoy we're going to be testing the 23x47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier for 2 inch hitches, part number M2205. Now what sets this apart from the other cargo carriers we have is that it has these nice, tall walls to hold in all cargo necessary that you don't want to keep inside to make more room for your passengers. Now, before we start anything else I would like to go ahead and give you some measurements to give you a better idea of how far this sticks out from the vehicle when it's attached. I'm going to go ahead and take these measurements from the bumper. It sticks out to about this end here to about 36 inches. Next, we're going to go ahead and give you the ground clearance from this point here, which that's at about 22 inches and finally we'll give you the closest distance to the bumper, which should be right about here, and that's about 6 1/2 inches. This has a nice grated bottom here, so it's very easy to clean and to fold this down and get it compacted is very easy. It has 4 pins in each corner. more

This cargo carrier does have a weight capacity of 500 pounds. It has this nice mesh floor here which makes it easy to clean for whatever you'd be using it for. It has these tie-down points periodically throughout the cargo carrier so you can use whatever straps you need to secure your cargo. This is rated for RV trailers or motorhome use.
